Tourist agency

The Tourist Agency function both as a preparatory and executive body in tourism matters. The Tourist Agency’s task is to be responsible for the information and overall marketing in its region as well as to carry out activities that will further the tourist industry according to the town’s overall industry policy.
In the Tourist Agency you can find:

  • leaflets, maps and other information about Jakobstad
  • leaflets about attractions, accommodation and other local information about Jakobstad
  • information about events in Jakobstad
  • leaflets and brochures about Finnish cities and municipalities
  • a public PC with access to the Internet

    The Jakobstad Info Point is also situated on the Tourist Agency’s premises. This focused Info Point offers the public a specific place and telephone number where it is possible to get advice on what administrative unit to turn to with a specific issue, the person that will deal with the issue and it’s also possible to get help to make an appointment with that person.
    The Info Point:
  • guides the people of the town to the right administrative units and civil service departments
  • Aids the administrative units in their everyday tasks and lends a hand during busy periods
  • informs those who have just moved to the area
